During the night of June 16th, for the first time in a long while, INT was the victim of a random theft. A FINEPIX S1 50X Zoom digital camera, a brand new pair of SVBONY binoculars with harness straps, a GARMIN GPS Maps 78s unit, a brand new OSPREY Skarab/Skimmer hiking backpack, along with screwdrivers and loose hardware was stolen from one of our work vehicles that was parked outside our Ravenwood office in town.
These items and bags were purchased with dedicated species conservation funding from various funding partners. Because our deductible for insurance is quite high ($1,000), their replacement through insurance is not practical.
Despite notifying police, we have still not been able to locate any of the stolen items. Field staff are trying to make do with what we have here, by borrowing from our other projects.
If you would like to make a donation or donate any gently used items that you may no longer want/use to replace this important field equipment we would be most grateful.
Thank you to all of you who support us and help us work for wildlife!
