Seeking PEI Woodlot Owners

Island Nature Trust (INT) is studying habitat needs for threatened birds in forested natural areas in PEI. This study will inform INT’s own forest management practices, and possibly future sustainability certification or carbon credit forestry programs. As part of this study, INT would like to collect some baseline information on PEI’s forestry sector, and is seeking Island woodlot owners who would be willing to contribute their knowledge and ideas by participating in a 30-minute interview.

The goals of the interviews are: to explore the willingness of woodlot owners to steward land in ways compatible with the protection of species at risk, and to identify key areas of conflicting needs between the forestry sector and breeding habitat of threatened forest birds. Interviews can take place anywhere that is convenient, including but not limited to the Island Nature Trust office in Charlottetown.

If you are interested in participating, please contact Julie-Lynn via email julielynn@islandnaturetrust.ca or telephone 902-892-7513. All woodlot owners interviewed will receive a Tim Hortons gift card as a “thank you” for participating.
